The Future of Business & Community in north lawndale

The NCCDC Business Innovation Center—a 5,000-square-foot hub on West Roosevelt Road—will be the home our entrepreneurs, small business owners, families, and young people deserve. This new space marks a major milestone in our mission to turn entrepreneurs into owners, owners into employers, and corridors into thriving marketplaces across Chicagoland.

Located at the gateway of the new Roosevelt/Kildare innovation corridor, the Center will serve as:

• Modern classrooms for the Business Financial Dashboard Course, coaching sessions, seminars, and hands-on learning.
• Workforce development programs that prepare residents for high-demand careers.
   

• Coworking space for start-ups, freelancers, and small business owners.
• Business resources, mentorship, and direct technical assistance. 
• A gathering place where entrepreneurs can build, test, and grow ideas.
   

• Meeting rooms for neighborhood groups, coalitions, and grassroots initiatives.
• Youth programs designed to nurture creativity, leadership, and generational wealth mindsets.
• A direct connection to a new community park that will host markets, food trucks, pop-ups, and cultural events—inviting residents to dream, build, and thrive together.
   

This project is part of a broader redevelopment effort anchored by industrial development, innovation centers, and public spaces along W. Roosevelt Road—designed by Lamar Johnson Collaborative to maximize opportunity and economic mobility for local residents. As one of two innovation anchors (alongside Black Men United), NCCDC is committed to ensuring that this space reflects the hopes, talent, and brilliance of North Lawndale.
